Interpretation Material for Present Phase and Challenge Period

The Phase description will give you a sense of the broad area of concern during your present 7 Month Phase.The Initiation Points and Reorientation Points are the most significant dates on the 7 Year Cycle Chart. The Challenge Period descriptions will give a sense of the process that occurs during the particular 8 week and concentrated on the 2 week period on each side of the Turning Point Date on the 7 Year Cycle Chart. Each of the four 8 week Challenge Periods over the course of a 7 Month Phase represent a kind of Learning Process.

• Arthur Young, a Princeton trained mathematician, philosopher, astrologer, aeronautical engineer, and inventor of the first commercially licensed helicopter, lays out a compelling case that the Astrological Zodiac is an archetypal "geometry of meaning" that "characterizes", through the Zodiac Signs and their relations, fundamental patterns in the structures of physical and psycho-physical reality, including how humans learn and then are able to apply that learning to manage their environment or circumstances, whether external or internal. The applications on this site demonstrate this by showing that the Zodiac overlaid on a 7 Year Cycle starting on the date of one's birth both forecasts and characterizes the type of experiences one passes through during these periods with remarkable accuracy.

• Our life "times" are harmonized or "patterned" by the archetypal meaning inherent in the signs of the Astrological Zodiac. This is the foundation of this forecasting tool. The tool is rigorous in it's mathematics and accurate in it's forecasting, which anyone can prove to themselves by clearly observing the patterns in their life related to challenges and opportunities for learning and growth.
• Each sign of the Zodiac is associated with a 7 month period in one's life that I refer to as Phases. Each 7 Month Phase is characterized by the archetypal meaning inherent in the associated sign of the Zodiac.
• During each 7 month Zodiacal Phase there are four Challenge Periods, of which the 2 week period before the Turning Point Date marks the period that tends to demand the greatest attention and energy for seeking to solve problems or issues that arrive during these periods.Once the Turning Point Date is passed, the 2 week period after the Turning Point Date marks the period of some level of resolution. Each of the four Challenge Periods are associated with one of the four stages of a Learning Cycle.
• The Learning Cycle as characterized by Arthur Young in simple terms is associated with four fundamental actions. As an example, to paraphrase Arthur Young: 'The start of the learning cycle is blind action: the toddler reaches out and touches the hot stove, and then reacts (cries a lot and seeks comfort or safety), then he/she considers what has occurred and becomes conscious that hot stoves hurt (if you are a behaviorist you can say he/she associates the pain with the stove), then lastly gains control by absorbing the lesson and he/she avoids a hot stove.' This is simplistic but describes the process well.
• So from this description we can see that the Learning Cycle is associated with four stages:
  • (1) Unconscious Impulsive Action when the toddler reaches out and touches the hot stove,
  • (2) Emotional Reaction when the toddler cries a lot and seeks comfort or safety,
  • (3) Conscious Consideration & Awareness when the toddler considers what has occurred and becomes conscious that hot stoves hurt,
  • (4) Conscious Control when the toddler absorbs the lesson and avoids a hot stove.
• Each of the Challenge Periods during a 7 Month Zodiacal Phase is associated with one of these four fundamental stages in the learning cycle. Understanding the character of the Zodiacal sign of one's present 7 Month Phase is essential in understanding the Challenges/Opportunities associated with the Learning Process that will occur step by step over the 7 Month Period.
• So to summarize, the forecasting tool is built upon a 7 Year Cycle with 12 Zodiacal Phases, each of which are associated with one of the twelve signs of the Zodiac.
  • Each Zodiacal Phase contains four Challenge Periods associated with one of the four stages of the Learning Cycle.
  • The midpoint of each Challenge Period is a Turning Point when the lesson or issue is resolved at some level.
  • One's life pattern immediately begins another lesson or Challenge Period.
  • There are 48 Turning Point Dates for each 48 Challenge Periods clearly marked around the perimeter of the 7 Year Cycle.
  • The 2 week period before a Turning Point tend to be the most intense relative to the issues that arise.
  • Once one reaches the Turning Point, and often within one day of the Turning Point, the "issues come to a head" and begin to resolve.
  • The 2 week period after a Turning Point tend to mark a period of resolution. Then one moves into a quieter period for about 4 weeks until the build-up to the next Turning Point.
